Lily is a girl who wants to escape her mother’s abusive boyfriend and go see the ocean, something she hasn’t done since the passing of her father. During her journey through 1965 Alabama, Lily meets an older black gentleman whom she tags along with - despite the fact that a young white girl traveling with an older black man in Alabama may attract unwanted attention…

With a shockingly star-studded cast, including Dianne Ladd, Lee Majors, Graham Greene, and George Lindsay, When I Find The Ocean explores 1960s racial tension with the delicate touch and care of a fracking operation. The child star of the movie is also the director’s daughter, which leads to one of the performances of all time.
