  • Just PULL!

Strange though with the manual ones there is no pulling. Before, there was a cord attached to an auto thrower. You’d pull the cord for the other person doing the shooting. I believe that’s where the expression comes from (could be wrong though) I do remember pulling the cord though.

As for that launcher it’s nifty. You basically roll the sporting clay down the track and the arm with the nub(its a wheel) will open and then some spring tension would hold it tight.

The arm would close just over half way so the clay can fly out.

Once the clay is in you, fold the arm and track back towards the handle and it stays in place by how the spring is bent and now pulling toward the arm. (Not sure how to explain it any better)

To throw… it takes practice I broke so may clays. My dad would show off by shooting the pieces. The throw is kind of like swinging a tennis racket at a ball near your hip.

The clay holder part also swings so its like a throw and it also throws. Like a bat that also has another spring loaded bat on the tip. It gives extra speed to your swing.

Pretty cool actually but super hard to explain.

  • I’m not sure what cheap is to you, but I purchased a pair of Keen hiking boots and they are an absolute dream as I also have wider feet.
I’m pretty thrifty and try and find cheap things but I’ve been disappointed with other brands. They weren’t water proof as claimed and were like $80.00.
I decided to try keen for $150.00. No regrets. They are comfortable and have a nice size toe box so I don’t feel like my feet are squished.

Here is a link, but unfortunately they went up in price. Likely because of tarriffs. Maybe you can get them somewhere else?

  • I never viewed a midlife crisis as actually breaking free or feeling like your half way so you need to alter. I always viewed it as a, now I finally have money and am in a financially stable spot where I can risk money to splurge on something I normally wouldn’t, point in life. Sadly, that seems gone. You’d be lucky if you have a stable career where you feel like you won’t get fired tomorrow at 30. If you have anything left your desperately saving it for retirement.

  • Cancelled my sub when I found that out. Switched to busuu, comparing the two, busuu and Duolingo seem to have different teachings and I noticed that my ability to understand things (comments) in duo is slowly becoming paywalled on the pro(paid) version… Wtf??! Quality of lessons is also seemingly going down.

Then I heard they are handing user data to ICE (maybe this is a rumor) but it just pushed me away even quicker.

I don’t have proof of this so I take this back but am leaving the text so as to give context to the comments below.
