This is an app for android that can connect to Dawarich. Try it, the docs are great at explaining how to do it.
The documentation explains it perfectly. When you add the OwnTracks integration in HA, it gives you the url you have to use in the OwnTracks client which in this case is Colota.
In my case it was the Nabu Casa URL, since I pay for their cloud service.

7·2 days agoThis is the most generic content ever, catering to companies who don’t give a fuck even if it means they’ll crash and burn their company they won’t change a damn thing.
I’m back. So, Colata is just a better OwnTracks. It’s a client, compatible with almost every selfhosted location server like HA, Dawarich, etc.
I followed the documentation (all on my phone) and it’s pretty straight forward. I did what it said and it worked. There’s nothing more to it.
Whenever I get some free time I’ll install and try Colota with Dawarich or something else that let’s me embed it inside HA through an integration with widgets.

5·2 days agoRadicale and Baikal are the most popular ones, but I wanted to share a few lesser known ones:
- Etesync
- Stalwart*
*Yes, Stalwart is a full blown Email+Calendar solution, but it requires 1 Core & 100 mb of RAM. And you get both CalDav & the newer & superior JMAP protocol. It’s backed by NLNET NGIO and it has a proven track record.
I’ll try it and let you know.

I’ve been using Bazzite and Aurora for 2 years now, they are downstream of Silverblue. They have been rock solid, stable, and damn easy to use. I do gaming, vibe coding, office work and graphic design.
I haven’t been forced to read any bible or wiki to do anything, they never broke, everything just works. I freaking love my PCs.
If you feel tempted to block yourself from braking your distro, I highly recommend them.
two options: learn, or switch to silverblue. XD

Network connections don’t get wiped. If you add a wireguard profile it will be persistent and you’ll be able to toggle it from the desktop and (with the help of the decky loader plugin) in game mode too.

On Linux the one thing that is borked right now is sharing the PC audio when screensharing. Everything else is crazy good. Best Discord clone by far.
