Ok musste jetzt mal nachschlagen warum sich der Spruch auf English reimt aber nicht auf Deutsch, schließlich müsste die Lautverschiebung P -> F ja in beiden Wörtern vorkommen. Stellt sich raus, dass das Wort “Lippe” aus dem Niederdeutschen kommt, und das Hochdeutsche eigentlich Lefze heißen müsste. Und warum hat sich das niederdeutsche Wort um Hochdeutschen durchgesetzt? Hat anscheinend was mit der Lutherbibel zu tun, zumindest laut Wiktionary.
