I’ll admit that there was a time I thought only idiots wore branded clothing. Partly because advertising, but mainly because some prints age terribly while the piece of clothing itself is fine.
That was before I realised how easy it is to connect with someone because of their clothing.

ITT: A bunch of people misunderstanding the question

It’s definitely not stupidity, you don’t have to be stupid to fall for propaganda. They just overwhelm you with information so it becomes impossible to filter out the truth, so people default to what they feel or instinctively grasp.
Yeah movement is goofy like you’d expect people to be goofin
I’ve had to give away so many plants because of this
Yeah it reminds me of those pictures takes when the sun is at the zenith with barely any shadows
Aaah the good old “next next next install” you open the browser some time later with a surprise toolbar
Times didn’t change! Anyone that provided any large scale tech support to the actual average person understands that tech is indistinguishable from magic to them
I was in the hospital in 2015 and was talking to the person next to me. He realised I was in IT and as he turned his laptop to me he’s like I can’t seem to view websites anymore with toolbars up the wazoo. It was already a throwback even at that time
Edit: wording

The average person has magic black rectangle for worldwide interaction. That’s the extent of their knowledge, cookies are a foreign concept if they don’t come straight out of the oven

This was definitely in a corporate setting lmao

I haven’t seen a YT ad in more than a decade, I did happen to watch this Coffeezilla video yesterday on AI deepfake ads.

Even Youtube is filled with scam ads, trusting ads to deliver you worthwhile results is like trusting Facebook not to sell your data to the highest bidder.

From an actual conversation I had once:
“What’s your problem with adds, I love them. They always recommend things I could actually use. It’s genuinely a great way for me to learn about new products or services.”

Which is exactly what you’d read out of the floppy disk

Emulators are legal
With the caveat that an emulator cannot copy any copyrighted code to use in the emulation. They try to add as much proprietary code and encryption that it’s nearly impossible to emulate without breaking the law.
It’s scummy, but people have and will continue to find ways around it. But even the smallest of copyright infringements will result in Nintendo’s wrath.
It’s an aggregation issue, the same content provided on multiple servers is considered spam and ranks low
In a way, I see it more as a square/rectangle situation. A game that helps to shape you is probably a favourite one, not necessarily the other way around. It’s a good thread either way.
