Every time I see someone say some wack ass shit and look to see their instance, it’s lemmy.ml

I’m tired of arguing with people who don’t understand what the California law is trying to do so I’m going to try making this copy-pastable.

Low tire pressure is not a safety issue, more of a efficiency issue, until it is so low that you’d need to be paying ZERO attention to the car’s handling to not notice. Lower pressure actually increases performance (to a point, and depending on the tire) because it can allow more rubber to contact the road. It is pretty typical to air down to around 20 psi for performance driving even if it’s closer to 35 for daily driving.
It’s very easy to notice if one tire loses pressure because you’ll have a very strong pull to one side, almost like a bad alignment. I got my tires rotated at a shop and they deflated the tires for some reason and forgot to refill one of them. On my way home I was freaking out that they fucked my alignment because it was handling so weird on the suburban roads home (not even twisty performance driving). My TPMS didn’t even go off until I was basically home already. When I checked the tire it was maybe 15 or 20. Certainly not dangerous but also certainly noticeable.

The article makes no argument for why the US is more of a threat than other states or non-state actors. Just that it’s bad. For sure, it’s bad. Really bad.
But the biggest threat to world peace? Get real.
The article itself clearly acknowledges that the west is generally still simpatico. So is it the US that’s the threat, or is it Europe and Australia too?
This conflict is challenging because it’s a couple of bad guys shooting missiles at third bad guy, who then shoots back at the first bad guy and the other bad guy’s bases located in yet more bad guy countries.
Ukraine is maybe less challenging. Dude was just standing there when Putin decided he wanted to steal a chunk of a sovereign nation. It’s not a CIA Op.
The yellow line in the meme is selecting quite a bit of area that isn’t SeaWorld parking, and it’s quite old too. On right it’s selecting some park area and the lot for a boat launch. On the left there is admin buildings and a Marina + parking for that. Check the satellite view.
Capitalism was literally invented in the last few hundred years.

The notice is just an overlay, you can easily zap it with unlock.

Opeth is a strange one and I don’t think it really counts. The band was still forming when the current leader of the band joined. Yeah if you’re super technical then the band that formed didn’t include him, but it seems like the “original” group hadn’t even played any showed before Akerfelt joined.
In a bio that Akerfelt wrote he says that basically the band died the day he showed up to a rehearsal and later he and the original founder “reformed” Opeth, so it’s debatable if it’s a ship of thesius situation or a new ship with the same name.

According to Wikipedia, the band formed in 69 and the earliest a current member joined was 70 (Ian Hill). Halfords didn’t join until 73.

That’s odd, I almost never see them. Pretty much the only time I see bad AI videos even recommend are when the Google AI result references some slop with a few hundred views as a source.

Add an AI content filter to Sponsor Block. The architecture already exists and I believe it’s open source so you can contribute. Once the feature is added, it’s crowd sourced to mark the spots in the video where it is AI generated content. Pure AI channels would just have the whole video skipped tho 🤷
But more likely, the maintainers will tell you it’s a dumb idea and to just not watch bad AI content LOL

Yeah this one is tough. It has a lot of the vibes of AI video, but doesn’t actually have some of the biggest tells that I can see. The robot design is very consistent. The environment too.
My guess would be some kind of mix of traditional CG and AI.
Edit, notice in the 3rd clip a few of the bots have the exact same reload animation nearly frame perfect match. I don’t think I’ve seen AI do that before.

Cars will always be the best choice for many many trips for many many kinds of people. Cities are most efficient but not everyone can be in one, and public transit doesn’t work in farmland. We need both. EVs is a way to reduce the use of fossil fuels in transportation. We don’t have time to wait to densify every city and build out good transit networks, that will take decades. EVs have real benefits today. It just sucks modern cars are nightmares.

Why the fuck are they putting Sac State housing in the Capitol Mall area??? It’s like 3 miles from the school… The light rail is nearby, but still, the Sac State Station is a few blocks from the edge of a pretty large campus.

Slow down homie. The DOJ in this is the California Department of Justice.

What is your evidence or reasoning for that? Sounds like pure doomerism. There have always been ups and downs, and hopefully the upside of this down is that enough people start to see and care again. Let’s see how the midterms go and then we can discuss if the system no longer exists.
Very interesting, I haven’t really been very introspective about my own feelings about gender and considered the possibility of being agender. I’m very supportive of our trans friends because I know how much it means to them and the mental, emotional, and physical damage that is done to them when they are not allowed to transition safely. But I will admit I definitely don’t get it. I can’t imagine feeling so strongly about my gender I’d want to change it or be upset if I was misgendered, but I fit so well into the mold society has for me that I’ve never really been challenged about it. Maybe I would feel differently if I was more androgynous or had a mix of typically feminine and masculine interests…
I agree with the author that I think we’ll never really know. Partly because everything exists on a spectrum so drawing a line between cisgener and agender will be inherently arbitrary and difficult. But mostly because social constructs (for good evolutionary reason) can embed themselves so deeply that it’s impossible to tell if you truly feel a way or if you are trained to behave in a way.

We have a system that’s slow and requires a lot of people to both really care and put in effort. Unfortunately most people are neither patient or want to put any effort into improving the lives of others. If they did, we would not even be in this situation.
Generative AI is a decent catch-all that I think would apply to this.
Another good option is “machine learning” or ML, but that’s fallen out of favor cause it doesn’t sound as impressive as AI. But really it’s teaching a machine to do a specific task. It’s not intelligent, it’s just that we don’t understand how it learns.
