I am not part of the discussion but you answered to a completely civil argument. People not agreeing with you is not a bad thing. If you think you are right, make counter points. Otherwise try to guess why their views differ and over think your own opinion. It is a good thing to get convinced by somebody else’s opinion, both win in that case.

In this particular case the problem is that most Germans know what it means for a news outlet belonging to Axel Springer, while internationals can’t understand our anger. This is because politico by itself is not a far right outlet like it’s brother BILD. That’s why the up/downvote thing will not work here sadly.

I use a DNS blocklist for all Axel Springer related media, so I can’t even access the website

As the other person said, WebView is shipped with your ROM and has nothing to do with Firefox. Every app you use that serves you content from the web will use WebView, as I understand it, you can imagine it as kind of a very minimalist browser that runs in the background?

It has been merged in #2234 but there is no comment on why this is necessary. Maybe it has to do with the rendering bug with the gray box? Idk.
