Why even bother living. Just get “AI” to live for you, and recycle your meaningless meat form.
It’s been over 10 years since I tried it, but at that time it was common for OpenOffice to have compatibility issues with MS office formats, but those issues were already fixed in LibreOffice.
Haha classic.
Good info in this comment https://lemmy.world/comment/22430995
I think you misread “only office” as “open office”. Though, you typed both in your reply… 🤔
Why on earth is OpenOffice here??
LibreOffice is the maintained fork.
It has been that way for 16 years now.
16 years.
There are people working full time jobs who were born the same year that LibreOffice started.
Stop promoting OpenOffice. People will have problems with it that have been long fixed in LibreOffice.
Edit: typo
Fascinating! I still use it unironically mostly.
Another one brought to my attention is ROFL. Though personally that one has aged out.
What about those who use “lol”?

We really do live in the cyber punk dystopia predicted. It’s just way less neon lights.

Ads are egregious attempts at brainwashing you into buying something. Blocking ads is morally correct. If something relies on ads, then its business model is broken.
Except the ink cartridges

Whatever Linux is being sold pre-installed on a machine within their budget.
Told my dad to buy a Dell laptop with Ubuntu preinstalled after his last Windows laptop died. He’s been fine with that for the last 5 years.

This is the way.
They changed the licence to MIT after my post. So good on them. The original licence was non FOSS. You can see it in the git history if you’re interested.
Why would anyone use this non FOSS vibe coded thing instead of PeerTube? Copying YouTube’s UX is not a good enough reason when better FOSS alternatives already exist.
I would also suggest Logseq an an option https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logseq

When you’ve run out of spell slots

Yeah adding these two restrictions to any open source licence means that it’s not actually open source. They should brush up on the open source definition. It sounds like it will effectively be “source available”, which is not the same thing.
I’m glad that of the 90 podcasts I subscribe to, none of them are in this meme
