News@lemmy.world•The Removed DOGE Deposition Videos Have Already Been Backed Up Across the Internet
3·5 days agoI’m trying to remember the circumstances when they gained access to these government department computers.
Now that I see how young and stupid these scumbags look, how in the world were they allowed access? Who let them in? Who looked at these idiots and thought, oh sure, I’ll just let them in to mess with our super important federal data. Did they have armed guards with them? I know they didn’t charm their way in.
Is it super loud, though? I had a bread machine years ago and I rarely used it because the noise was very unpleasant.

On my phone it’s not just the ads that aggravate but also the autoplay videos–the ones that follow you as you scroll down. I can’t prevent them from autoplaying.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•I'd like to ask everyone, which movie have you rewatched more than three times?
4·9 days agoI second most of these, especially The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
I would add most Kubrick films including Dr. Strangelove and 2001.
Also, Being John Malkovich, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Dawn of the Dead remake 2004
The most recent film I can’t stop watching is Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Theives.
Thank you for your rant. I love a good rant.
I would just add for anyone listening, that the stock market and 401Ks, it’s all just gambling. It’s literally gambling, and not much good comes from gambling even though a lot of people think it will. Gambling produces a few winners and a whole lot of losers.

politics @lemmy.world•Most Americans think their fellow citizens have poor morals
5·12 days agoIn the area I’m in, people think that lying is perfectly fine now. Even if you’re not a liar, people assume that you’re lying all the time, because they think it’s stupid to not lie. People think if you’re not lying, you’re a sucker.
It’s hard to get anything done because the mechanics and the plumbers and the city workers and the doctors and dentists and insurance companies and the people we work for and the religious leaders and on and on are all lying. If you’re a good liar with no conscience, life is a paradise–for the rest of us it’s hell.

5·14 days agoThis video cuts off too soon. In the video I saw, a woman filming turns the camera to the generals sitting motionless with their backs to the horror going on behind them. She calls them robots and urges them to turn around and see wants going on. She yells shame.
It’s almost more chilling than the man’s arm being broken. It’s hard to believe it could be worse, but it’s so creepy to see all their backs turned. And they’re completely frozen.
It’s like a scene from a horror film.

Late Stage Capitalism@lemmy.world•Global economy must stop pandering to ‘frivolous desires of ultra-rich’, says UN expert
1·15 days agoThe film Triangle of Sadness illustrates what happens when we pander to the rich.
The phone AI will hang up on you over and over again. And it’s not an accidental disconnection because they will say they are sorry you are having problems and then say goodbye and then hang up.
Verizon set up this doom loop where I was prevented from logging into my account online and then when I called for help the AI hung up on me because I wasn’t logged into my account. I told the AI the reason I was calling was because the system wouldn’t let me log in and asked to speak to a human representative but they just kept disconnecting.
Corporate phone queues are being run straight out of hell.

When Independent media like Status Coup references something in the files, they put it up on the screen so you can see it’s real as they’re reading it.
