Today’s main activity will be making tofu. I made the soy milk for it yesterday, which involved an awful lot of mess and chaos, mostly because I used too many beans in the maker, had to divide it into multiple portions and then messed around trying different containers and methods of pressing the bag of mushed up soy goo etc. It was the complete opposite of a streamlined process. I decided to buy a press to make it easier in future.

My Temu return has been dropped off at the post office. They have a very weird return algorithm for their bots to follow. I also had a watch band I was going to return and had arranged to go to a parcelpoint location which is closer, but because I had to go to the post office anyway I cancelled the return so I could re-do it with an Aus Post label instead. But this time it just decided I didn’t need to return it and just refunded the money. I guess the op shops getting a watch band.

A lot of farmers are also burning off stubble at this time of year.

So tired. One more hour before I can go home to bed. Can’t wait. I changed the bedding yesterday so it is going to be glorious.

Today the new electric blanket goes on the bed. I might wait a bit longer on changing to the winter doona though, especially as thiis house stays pretty warm overnight.

I decided to use the snoring indicator on my sleep monitoring app to find out if I do actually snore. It detected three minutes of snoring, which it recorded. The first was a loud car that hooned past. There were also a couple of audible breaths and a bit of purring. I feel confident that wasn’t actually me.

I never connected with anyone when I went to school so the possibility of a reconnection isn’t on the table.

My past self apparently programmed a secret message into my spreadsheet to alert me when the leave dates I want are open to apply for. I do not remember doing this at all, but when I opened it today there was a bright red “APPLY FOR LEAVE” message waiting for me. I am incredibly impressed with my ingenuity.

I’m up to two packages currently waiting at my door for me to come home. I think it’s my new electric blanket and a soy milk maker, but I’m also expecting a Temu package including new watch bands/covers and random stuff.

I had previously bought an electric banket on a pre-order with Appliances Online, but their delivery has apparently been delayed so I got a refund. I ended up buying a cheaper blanket instead to give me enough money left over for the soy milk maker. It’s not a brand I’ve ever seen before, so fingers crossed it’s ok.

Yes, it’s just like tinned food, only in a jar.

Plus there is one in the fridge that didn’t seal properly which will be today’s lunch.

We are starting to get into soup weather again, so I’ve made a start on a big pot of chicken soup. I’ve made the base stock yesterday (lots of bones to go in the FOGO bin this week!) and today will skimming the fat and adding the vegies. Then it will be into the pressure canner to make it all shelf stable.

The next soup on the list will be cauliflower.

I’ve finished putting grids onto my whiteboards with the marking tape. It’s hard to get everything straight, but I managed a decent enough job and now I won’t need to draw out grid lines constantly. The little board I got for the exercise plans is good, its double sided with an integrated stand, so I can write up the plan for the next week and have it ready to go in advance. I also got some very fine whiteboard markers which are great, I can fit a lot more onto each board that way.

Miss Meow’s blood test results have come back with nothing too alarming, just a slightly raised kidney enzyme to be monitored. She also has been vomiting less, so I’m hoping the new food fixes that issue. She’s not completely changed over and is still having a bit of her canned food, so fingers crossed that’s all it takes to resolve the issue.

I had an early package today, with my new little whiteboard and associated supplies. So today’s plan involves playing around with whiteboard marker tape to set up my exercise and meal planning boards.

I had no idea that had a name. My noisy box air conditioner in the bedroom used to make that happen. Slightly indistinct original music to make a change from the normal internal soundtrack (which is currently running a Hinder marathon).
