I just have a small counter on my Polybar checking how many packages can be updated. Once it reaches a few hundred, I upgrade.

The tool gdu is very nice for finding space culprits.
Never used Bazzite, but isn’t it heavy on packaged apps with snap or flatpak? Inherently space inefficient (and I despise them both passionately).
Don’t update all the time. I update every couple of days like a maniac, but once every few weeks is fine too.
There’s a distro for every level of “I want to do it myself” vs “I want everything to be made ready for me”.

There is archinstall which does everything for you. If you don’t wanna do anything yourself though, just check out CachyOS or EndeavourOS
I only have my Windows partition for the one weekend per year I play Rust

He made a loose nazi joke like 10 years ago and the reaction was hilarious. He’s definitely not a nazi
In which they actually stole the font to make the ad

Limiting factor will probably be network - if you hook it up with cable, it should be fine

I just use my (static) IP directly with port forwards on my router.
Sure, I get hundreds of login attempts every day, but that’s just life on the internet. Just secure your stuff and you’re fine.

Yes, like with everything else you self host.
You could also use some paid service like Cloudflare if you want to hide it for some reason.
But generally people are overly protective of their home IP. What’s the danger? DDoS?
People know my physical address but my house hasn’t been burned down yet…

Even on a crusty old laptop you can easily serve hundreds of users with Mumble

Mumble was the primary choice for EVE Online groups.
You can literally have thousands of users on the same server.
In EVE, during big fleet fights (like 1000+ people on the same “team”), you can have a hierarchy of fleet commanders/wing commanders/squad leaders where voice travels down the chain of command, but not up.
Also the certificate based security with ACLs is just unmatched. You can set it up exactly how you want.
Also easy to integrate with, which is important for something like EVE.
If you’re not already addicted, caffeine can definitely pep you up quite a lot. Not in a comfortable way, though, in my opinion
It took me many years to realize.
I learned to read and write very young, and so the literary part of school was always super easy. This caused me to neglect studying overall, and when I moved to high school in the city, I was just average lol

You’re talking about being fed content.
In my country, Facebook is so embedded that it’s hard to leave. All communication is on Messenger. All events are managed on Facebook.

Sure, but it would be illegal for a human to coerce/encourage a mentally ill person to commit crime (or worse).
So who’s responsible? Caretaker? Government?
Just use Arch or a derivative like CachyOS, it’s not as scary as you might think
I fucked with Xorg literally yesterday to get my display working
Do you write in a French accent?
I have been using Arch daily for 13+ years and I still don’t have a proper grasp on audio and Bluetooth…
Used raw ALSA, JACK, PulseAudio, and now Pipewire. I had major issues with all of them except ALSA.
I managed to disable devices like my webcam mic and PS5 mic, and even added a noise reduction filter to my real mic that shows up as it’s own device, but…
Only because the Arch wiki told me specifically how to do those things. Audio just luckily seems to work fine for the most part, currently. I used qpwgraph to play with wireplumber and it’s obviously very powerful, but I have no idea how it works :D
Bluetooth is a different story, it seems to work differently on every single device I’ve worked on…
I think the only reason to switch would be the optimizations, right? For new users, the installer is probably nice.
You can get all the optimizations they made in Arch, too. It’s very easy to get their custom kernel, just install
linux-cachyosfrom AUR.For other system settings, see: https://github.com/CachyOS/CachyOS-Settings
