Don’t threaten me with a good time

Don’t threaten me with a good time
Or people can tell when you’ve sold your soul because you’re dead behind your eyes.

You win the internet today

Half the people in the world have zero wealth (which is bad let’s continue to help with this), but anyone who has a twenty in their pocket, no car, no mortgage, and their credit card paid off has more wealth than half the population.

I’ve been using Linux, Mac, and Windows simultaneously for over a long damn time and I say this:
Mac
Mac terminal is still Linux and you can do Linux things with it. I use homebrew stuff all the time - but mostly just do as your told and you’ll be happier. Also, it really helps if you have a few extra pesos in your pocket. I mostly use little Linux boxes to do Linux things rather than Macs. I use Macs more when Apple has decided they like computers and they work great. I move away when they see something shiny and start to depreciate what I have already bought. I will NEVER forget how bad they screwed me with Aperture. However, the Mac Mini is a great product and I use it for what it’s good at.
Windows
NT 4 was peak Windows. As far as I’m concerned, there is nothing outside of equipment OS that can’t do. Also, nothing useful added to Windows since then really works as promised. (Unlike Mac) Excel is still as slick as a cat’s ass and they keep making it better. It doesn’t work on other OS platforms as well.
Linux
It is only for people who love computers. Believe it or not, not everyone does.

I’m guessing “they are lying” would have been a better response than “oh, that’s how they figured it out”.

My dad is a long retired school superintendent. He was able to convince a small community to greatly upgrade their education system.
After he retired he worked (for almost nothing) to help school boards from poorer counties do the same.
He helped lot of people.

Not a defense but an explanation
The oil on those tankers belongs to someone. The US would have to steal Indian, Chinese, or someone else’s oil if they seized those tankers. This would cause even more chaos.
The price of the little remaining unsold oil outside of the Persian Gulf (the spot price for oil) would skyrocket.

It’s actually worse, in my experience, for the higher roles.
If you post a specialist job with a higher salary, everyone thinks, “what can hurt by trying?”, and you get thousands of resumes with no hope.

No way I’m clicking that
Without chemical companies, the modern world wouldn’t exist.
It’s easier to say OK let’s go back to the Stone Age but who’s going to pick the 6 billion people that have to die so we can do that because there’s no way that subsistence agriculture can keep 9 billion people alive.
Sure, there have been plenty of evil people who work for chemical companies have done evil things.
But no more than the evil bankers that allow cities to exist wit lh their high density, housing, and sidewalks bike paths that everybody loves.
oh yeah, good luck making a bicycle without vulcanized rubber
This is just sentiments of a child who doesn’t understand the world they live in.

Am I the only one having anxiety about the kinked bend?
I tell you I get no respect.
No respect at all.
I tried to tell my son about the birds and the bees.
He told me about my wife and the milkman.
Is the best part of, no it’s the only real reason, for in person meetings

Listen to the guy talk and make your own opinion

They have citizens they need to keep alive and to do that they need fuel and food
Those are their interests

I don’t know that that narrative would win them very much
The US removed all its mine sweepers from the Gulf
Also, even the threat of mines would make insurance prohibitively expensive and no ship would enter the area

Sometimes they’re not mad they’re just evil
Don’t forget, they built prison camps to hold millions of people
