The babe with the power!

rant: If he can, he should. He needs to focus on outcomes and do what he said he’d do, though, otherwise he can’t and shouldn’t get reelected and will be unable to advocate for what’s good.
One thing I’ve seen the democratic party do is kneecap very important priorities by allowing focus to be diverted. It’s important to be green. It’s important to use union labor. DEI is important. Its all important, but if you’re trying to house he houseless, focus on that and once you’ve found a way to do that, then do it green. Or at least have enough prioritization skill to walk and chew gum, but at least do what you said you’d fucking do!
You absolutely cannot solve every problem at once and if you try, that’s how Republicans win.
So, if you have 2 builders and one can do it greener for the same price, by all means, choose that, but you can’t let it be the dealbreaker that prevents you from haveing even a basic level of success.
A good example of this is the chips act. All of the individual requirements are important and meaningful, but the problem is they have done a lot to prevent the actual thing from getting done. They tried to solve everything at once.
So should he build green? Absolutely! If he can do that, along with the other goals. And should he be DEI? Absolutely! If that doesn’t compromise the goal of housing homeless people. But the problem of the Democratic Party is that it has no fucking focus and it allows ideological priorities to stop them from doing any actual real work so many different times.
The ideology cannot be a binary and success is measured by outcomes.
Not everything is a purity test.

I skipped to the end…
This was was waged for confused or unclear reasons.
I’m summarizing and paraphrasing. Saved you a click.
A bunch of different dudes had a bunch of different reasons for going to war with Iran and, finally, there were enough people that they got together and said, eh, let’s go ahead and do it.
From what I’ve seen though, it really looked like Netanyahu jumped the gun and forced Trump’s hand by attacking earlier and also by sabotaging the negotiation process beforehand by asking for things that he knew he never could get his to make it look like Iran was unwilling to talk.

I might be able to agree with you if they hadn’t already said that it’s basically being misused and I’m talking about the people using it, not some crackpot or tin foil hat person. Also, the case for its necessity and its utility is very flimsy. Looke into snowden. Look into flock cameras. If you can even scratch the surface on those two topics and come back with the same argument… Well, then I just don’t know what to do with you. lol
You can put in whatever safeguard you want, but there will still be people that will misuse it, and they won’t get caught. That’s what’s already been happening with the levels of surveillance that we’ve already had since 2001, and even more so in 2004 with the Patriot Act.
In many ways, it’s already too late and it has been proven that what we have already has not not been handled responsibly.

Probably guns. Anything to invoke the insurrection act.
And thanks.

Democracies require privacy, therefore they are in their most basic mission, anti-democratic.

You remind me of the babe…

Same ol’ divide and conquor, and they’ll fall for it. They’ll also continue to fund AI development until it works as well as the shills say it does. It’s closer that than we think, too close for comfort.

If you’re only able to think in terms of quarterly growth figures, you’ll never be the kind of person that plants a tree whose shade you will never live to enjoy.

Huh. Almost as if they want to spurn spur civil unrest for some mysterious reason.
He got so bored with winning in the mortal realm that he allowed death to take him to the next so he could have a proper fight

I guess they couldn’t invalidate IDs and prevent people from voting on a national level, so they’re going to try and do it on the state level instead. That’s totally awesome./s
The Kris Kobach connection is worth noting. He’s the Kansas AG who championed SB 244, and he’s the same figure who spent years pushing the earlier Kansas proof-of-citizenship voter registration law that federal courts ultimately struck down for disenfranchising voters. He has a long track record of using ID requirements as a voter suppression tool.
It doesn’t matter whether there was a meeting where someone said “the SAVE Act is stalling, so let’s try this instead.” These efforts are all expressions of the same political project: identifying demographics likely to vote against you and engineering bureaucratic obstacles to prevent them from doing so. The anti-trans framing gives it cultural cover that a naked voter suppression bill wouldn’t have. You get to claim you’re “protecting women and girls” while quietly stripping voting access from a group that overwhelmingly votes Democratic.

I really need to get into Usenet but don’t know where to start. Any recommendations?

That’s definitely a valid point. On the whole though, I think it’s a net negative.

Lovely reply, friend!
I have a semi-bullshit theory that free-will if it does exist arises from some sort of quantum action inside the brain that we cannot fully understand or possibly even consciousness is some sort of funky quantum shit that goes on that we don’t understand yet.
I came up with this idea for the 15 minutes that I actually understood how quantum mechanics worked, and I can’t explain it to you now, so I apologize.

I’ll go one further, if we had sufficient understanding of how biology and consciousness worked, I believe we would not be able to construct an argument for the existence agency or free will.

Oh, for sure it’s a dick move! As the surveillance spreads and grows, we owe it to ourselves to be aware of the countermeasures.
Also, I’ve only tested this, not tried it in public, but 100% works on condenser mics I’ve tested it on.
And to your point, at the gym, I do ask people if they’ve got to headset when I hear them blasting their media on their phones.
Thank you.
I probably could have been a little bit more succinct and just said “past is prologue, QED, you are incorrect.”
