  • Not only did you horridly editorialize the headline of the article, you also made up claims that weren’t there. This isn’t criticism, it’s just misinformation.

For the people who want to know what the article actually said, here it is in full:

NATO’s Rutte says still assessing Iran missile type in Diego Garcia strike

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said he could not confirm whether missiles fired toward Diego Garcia were Iranian intercontinental ballistic missiles and that the alliance is still assessing the situation.

“We cannot confirm that at the moment, so we’re looking into that,” Rutte said in an interview with CBS News.

“We are still assessing, but if it is true, it means they already have that capability. If it is not true, we know they are very close to having that capability,” he added.

He said US President Donald Trump’s efforts to degrade Iran’s missile and nuclear capabilities were “crucial" for global security.

Rutte warned that Iran obtaining such capabilities would pose “a direct threat … to Israel, to the region, to Europe, to the stability in the world.”

  • That’s stupid. This is something that’s undoubtedly positive that’s being painted as a negative by people who are naive. The one and only reason why we even know this was even a thing is because the US is a democracy with some degree of transparency. Even if its decades later, we can still publicly view, discuss, and criticize things that the government has done in the past because those documents were declassified and released to the public.

Most countries are not like this. There are a lot of instances like this that will never see the light of day until that regime collapses, and even then its successor might keep the secret going. For example, Turkey is STILL locking up the Ottoman archives relating to the Armenian genocide more than century later. There are so many evil plots and schemes made both in the past and present that we will probably never know about because they will never be released publicly due to the ruling regimes wanting to maintain their image. I wish there was more instances like this from the US and every country so we can see the good, the bad, and the ugly and get a real understanding of history.

  • Does anybody else remember the good old days before the pandemic when anti-vaxers where a left wing phenomenon? It was mostly popular among the all natural hippies who were convinced that crystals and meditation could cure diseases and that all modern medicine was a scam by the all powerful and all elusive “big pharma”… It’s sad that anti-vaxers went from being clowns that everybody made fun to being a serious problem because a big chunk of society decided to go brain dead and now old diseases are making a comeback.

  • This is not true the PSOE has not overtaken PP in the polls since 2022.

    https://www.politico.eu/europe-poll-of-polls/spain/

Vox has climbing up for so long now that they might surpass PSOE and become the second biggest party in the country. If they form a coalition with PP then it’s over. The poll you cited to be an outlier in the data.

Actually in the very article you posted, the biggest issue to people is housing followed by immigration. Sanchez just adopted a law giving residency to half a million illegal immigrants permanent residency despite it being an unpopular move. Consider how this is both Vox and PP forte, you know that the propaganda they’ll run is going to be historic. I have a very hard time seeing Sanchez and PSOE winning the election. If the right wing coalition wins then Spain is going to look a lot more Italy’s or Germany’s current governments.

  • When have the polls been wrong? The polls have been pretty damn accurate every time. Any electoral differences within the margin of error or due to some institutional technicalities. You’ll need something truly extreme to shift the trends, otherwise this is the likely outcome. The only instance of this that I remember is the Canadian conservatives were poised to win a landslides because Canada universally hated Trudeau, but then Trump threatened to invade and annex Canada and that caused a change in the voters. I don’t forsee something like that happening in Spain.

  • news is extremely stupid as a result of perpetual propaganda/lie machine.

But you’re just dismissing evidence, which then makes claims impossible to verify. If you don’t trust multiple reputable news organizations reporting the same events, then what exactly do you trust to get updates on world events?

They 100% still have the power to control the Straights with supreme drone control and will use the power to selectively allow friendly shipping as they were doing yesterday. and your comment is pure stupidity if not purposeful lie.

Reiterating your claim and then claiming me stupid doesn’t prove me wrong or you right, it just shows that you lack substance. Both the old and new Khamenei stated the same strategy, which is to completely close down the strait to apply pressure on other country to apply pressure on the US and Israel to stop their attacks.

  • I think those types are beyond hope. They’re so zealous and ignorant that I honestly think that they basically worship Trump. I’m talking more about the quieter types. Back during the 2000s, Bush actually had a pretty big base of supporters, and they were especially vocal after 9/11, but after the 2008 recession and the war on terror, a lot of his supporters went silent. Sure, there we’re still a few that supported him afterwards, but a lot of his supporters chose to pretend that they never supported Bush in the first place. I feel like something similar is happening here.

  • Honestly Fox doesn’t hold as much weight as it used to. Ever since Tucker Carlson left, they’ve been kind of irrelevant. This is doubly true when you consider that a lot of their viewers moved to Newsmax and OANN after they have multiple public feuds with Trump. They’re still a propaganda outlet for his admin, but not to the same extent as it used to. I think Facebook is way more influential nowadays. The sheer amount of propaganda, bots, and misinformation on there is so ridiculous it should be illegal.

  • I feel like Trump and MAGA have lost A LOT of steam since 2016. People like to pretend that his support has been consistent, but so far his second term he seems to be a lot more universally hated. I feel like a pretty big shift among the right happened when he came out and not only blatantly lied about the Epstein files, but disowned his own supporters. I feel like his core base is now fractured and unenthusiastic about him. He doesn’t wield as much influence as he once did. We’ll see if that’s really the case in the midterms.

  • My understanding is the current PM of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, is incredibly unpopular in the country and is pretty much universally hated. National polls put his party, PSOE, at just 26% support. He is consistently losing to the conservative party, PP, and the hard right party, VOX, is quickly catching up to both. There’s a very good chance that the right wing parties are going to win the next general election in 2027 and form a majority coalition. The right wing parties, especially VOX, are very much pro Israel and against everything Sanchez does. So there’s a good chance that all this good will towards Palestine is going to be reversed next year if he and his party fail to maintain their seats.

  • Iran doesn’t actually have the capacity to do that. They’re trying to mine the waters and they have no naval power to secure safe passage. The reality is that even if a country did comply with Iran’s demands, there’s a very good chance that the ship will get hit anyway by some rogue regional commander or some random mine.

Keep in mind, previous administrations were well aware of this scenario which is why they didn’t whack the mullah regime in this way even though they could’ve easily done it. The current situation can only be achieved by an idiot who lacks the ability to understand the consequences of their actions like Trump.
