It was also grossly OP. It could clear chaff, it was effective against medium enemies, it was effective against heavy enemies, it could clear nests and factories and ships. In fact the only enemies that I had trouble with were flying enemies because the slow grenade speed made it very hard to hit them. But even that would’ve been a matter of time until I figured out how to lead the shots.

It’s still very versatile, it just has a clear downside now.

  • I agree. I don’t mind new warbonds and super store items (though I do take issue with weapons ending up there) as they need to make money somehow, but what’s the point of making money when the rest of the game seems to get bare minimum attention. I’ve taken an extended break from the game and on return the “end game” progression was exactly the same as I left. I get it that you can’t really throw more and more end game progression at the game because it already takes something like 200+ (if you’re very efficient with collecting samples) hours to unlock all the ship modules.

But like I’d expect 2 years into the game Arrowhead would have figured out how to make the galactic conquest more engaging and rewarding for players because that effectively is the end game progression. And it’s actually gotten worse since launch because we used to get stratagem unlocks based on completed objectives and now we don’t even get those and the entire conversation about “the story is rigged and our contributions don’t matter” is still circulating in the community. It feels more like flavor of the week depending on which front the Major order is at. Helldivers 1 Galactic war was way better than this because there the community had some agency over the war. The community chose which battles to fight and depending on those decisions wars were either won or lost. I wish the Helldivers 2 galactic war shifted more towards the sandbox that the Helldivers 1 galactic war was with story beats happening when Arrowhead has a story to give (like the Cyberstan invasion or the new illuminate subfaction thing) instead of just giving us busywork MO-s (almost everything between Cyberstan and Illuminate thing).

  • Yeah, you have rose tinted glasses when it comes to those two games. Halo got a graphics upgrade in the MCC. It didn’t magically make the dialogue less cringe, the useless guns more useful, the pacing less weird, the later levels less boring. There’s a lot of what is dated about Halo because much like Half-life everything great about it has been improved upon and made industry standard. In fact just about the only thing still “modern” about Halo is the soundtrack. It’s not a bad game per se, but if it released today (even with top of the line graphics) it would be considered flawed gem at best, because the industry has grown since then.

The same applies to OOT and pretty much every other game in the image. All of them have been dissected to understand what is great about them, improved on the great and the great parts have become the new standard. If you’re being properly critical and evaluate the games by today’s standards none of them hold up, at least not to the critical acclaim they’ve been bestowed.

  • Not an investigator nor a lawyer but as I understand to be incriminated it needs to be proven you did the crime and it depending on the type of the crime it needs to be proven you did it intentionally.

Unless she has anything else to do with the crime a hair follicle isn’t enough to be incriminating, because it alone doesn’t really prove anything. Worst case it just sets her at the scene of the crime and best case the hair is used to narrow down the actual list of suspects.

  • I’m just going to complain a bit. Why didn’t Kimi Antonelli get a penalty for blocking Norris? Norris literally said he’s was going to push this lap and Antonelli was in the way and ruined his push lap. Even if it wasn’t a push lap for Norris, he was still driving fast and Antonelli was driving slow and being in the way. They literally gave Verstappen a penalty for blocking Russell when Russel was on a warmup lap, sped up all on his own and then got blocked by Verstappen when his speeding made him catch up to Verstappen. We have two almost identical scenarios with two completely opposite verdicts.

I’ve got nothing against Antonelli. I’m not a Norris fan. I don’t have a stake in the matter. I just want some fucking consistency in the stewarding.

  • The solution of “Just collect blood samples from all users” is the law. Gambling laws require that the company providing a gambling service verify the age of the user to prevent underage gambling. If Valve is providing a gambling service then by law they should have age verification. So far, legally, what Valve has been doing is not gambling and part of this lawsuit is proving that what Valve is doing is gambling, and if it is gambling then Valve is doing an inadequate job at verifying the ages of the users and thus is breaking the law.

I’d like the NYAG to equalize pressure on sports betting sites.

As far as I know online sports betting sites are already required to verify the age and identity of the user. Outside of changing the laws I don’t see what pressure you’re expecting.
