

I’ve read “ Poland 1939”
It is a war history of Adolf Hitler‘s opening to World War II where he invades Poland in 1939 and the allies of Poland, namely England in France renege on their treaties with Poland and allow it to be overrun by the Germans.
I have a tiny shred of sympathy because Europe was still devastated by World War I, but their failure to defend Poland, a wild World War II to unfold.

Montgomery’s treatment of the subject the book I referred to is less generous.
Unless I’m miss remembering, they were hoping to squirm out of any actual military commitment. They made promises to the Polish that they never intended to fulfill.
