Lutris is much more light-weight than Steam, which is basically just six chrome processes at this point.

I use AM/AppMan with a local install. So far, it’s been pretty good.

I believe it’s a consequence of how flatpaks are sandboxed. The software itself might be small, but that sandbox also has to contain every dependency that software requires. It can get distressing when you’re on a 500GB ssd.

If the developer isn’t able to keep up, they should look for (co-)maintainers.
