Klingt schon ein bisschen so als sei es früher besser gewesen. Vorschriften nach Dienst heißt machen was man gesagt kriegt. Wenn früher die Möglichkeit bestand ein solides Leben mit der erbrachten Arbeit zu leben, und diese Arbeit mit Respekt einherging, war das sicherlich motivierend und man hatte die Möglichkeit sich durch einbringung selber zu verwirklichen. Das ist mein Gedanke

Dienst nach Vorschriften ist ein typisches Zeichen einer kriese im Sinne von Streit < Konflikt < Kriese. Ich denken, dass es durchaus möglich ist und auch erfüllend sein kann mehr zu tun. Was nicht heißen soll, dass es jedermanns ding ist. Ich denke dass vor 30 Jahren diese arbeitsbereitschaft da war, die Rahmenbedingungen aber vollkommen anders waren und es deshalb akzeptiert wurde (was auch weit verbreitetem Sexismus zu verdanken war.)

Warum hat man das damals gemacht? Sicher auch brainwashing, aber am Ende des Tages stand hinter der Arbeit ein solides Leben.

Heute müssen beide Eltern einer klassischen Familie arbeiten. Nach steuern für die Bildung aller und Sozialabgaben für Renten und Sozialversicherung darf man dann noch 1/3 vom netto an miete zahlen, damit irgend ein boomer am anderen Ende Deutschlands sich seinen Ruhestand versüßt und in seiner 50 Jahre alten Immobilie mieten erhöht ohne auch nur das nötigste gegen den überall entstehenden schimmel zu tun.

Und dann stellt sich noch ein Kanzler hin und meckert über die ganzen Minderheiten und Lifestyle teilzeitler. Das ist eon konsequentes gegen die Wand fahren der Gesellschaft durch die beiden großen Volksparteien weil man ja an “die Wirtschaft” denken muss. Wie soll denn Wirtschaft ohne Gesellschaft und der damit einhergehenden Kooperationsbereitschaft gehen ihr idioten da oben?

I’m not using socker myself but npm and other services in proxmox containers and VMs. The concept is the same though.

NPM allows you to define a host, which needs to be the subdomain name, allows NPM to know how to handle and serve requests to said domain. In you case this would be the full social.my.domain. Additionally you need to set the local ip /port of the service you’re hosting. You can also use a local host name, which makes it easier to move services to other ips, which probably doesn’t happen often.

Finally HTTPs, SSL, TLS should be configured. This can be tricky if you don’t have specific instructions but should not be neglected!
