I’m looking for a community management tool I could #selfhosting
Our Club try to move from Mail to messanger as communication tool.
Our userbase use Whatsapp, #Threema, #Signal
The usage is not regulated and not all boardmembers use all tools or wish to do that.
Could someone recommens selfhosting tools for that. I woukd host it on my #Docker
At moment I only have #Zammad on my list. But it could not use Threema and is not exactly for community management.
Mov.im ? A web frontend for xmpp. Though it’s not hostable via docker (there is one but not for production).
I’m not sure it will 100% suit your use case but definitely a solid choice.
Have you checked https://awesome-selfhosted.net/?
What exactly are you looking for? A replacement messenger or something that allows communication with those messengers?
@tofu
- A Web solution
- Club board Members do not have to use their mobile devices (not have to install an app).
- In best case they write one Message and it get distributet on all.
What about something xmpp-based like Jabber, Prosody, or Snikket?
@mrnobody Do you about any usefull integration to whatsap, signal, threema?
No unfortunately. I just meant as a secure replacement that you can host or have hosted for cheap. I do know they’re are ways to get Matrix support on XMPP and there might be bridges out there but I don’t have enough knowledge about them as I’ve not tried it.
Threema sadly blocks api access behind a paywall and community interest isn’t high enough to have resulted in a workaround using the regular client access.
As for the main request, it is probably a bad idea to move to messengers as the primary communication tool. I would rather suggest to look into a tool like Loomio that has nice notification options to link the decision making process to various chat apps.
Take a look at Zulip
@ggrey @selfhosted
It seems not integrate whatsapp, signal or threema.
https://zulip.com/integrations/
If they’re already using Signal, why not use that, instead of trying to get them to install and set up yet another app?
Matrix or Mattermost maybe.
@sihaha @selfhosted
There are a lot of integrations it seems.
Internet sais, getting the integrations work seems really difficult and is sometimes bad documented.At least it is on my list for further investigating beside zammad.
Thanks, I forgot about them.
