The Biblically-famous city of Jericho is in modern-day Palestine. The four pics in the OP, clockwise from top-left are:

Jericho is among the oldest cities in the world. Archaeologists have unearthed the remains of more than 20 successive settlements in Jericho, the first of which dates back 11,000 years (to 9000 BCE), almost to the very beginning of the Holocene epoch of Earth’s history(!)
Copious springs in and around the city have attracted human habitation for thousands of years. --WP, with some slight emphasis on my part (JE)
