Capitalism is caustic. A company positioning itself to ride the success of others to maximize their own profits is too reminiscent of the music industry for my tastes. Secondarily, I’ve gone through this so many times with so many other platforms. The “maximally grow the user base” phase is the beginning of the enshitification process. It’s much easier in my mind to abandon ship at this phase, rather than help them build a bigger mouse trap with my ad revenue, to ensnare the next hapless fool.

It’s pretty rare to see another human in so much obvious pain and feel absolutely zero empathy for them. He’s definitely earned it though, I don’t even feel bad for not feeling bad.

I doubt that would be a make or break requirement for getting hired somewhere but it definitely could be the thing that differentiates you from another candidate applying for the same job. Honestly you should go ask the mechanics at your local shop for their opinion. They are usually pretty personable and the few I’ve met were very eager to help new guys get started in the trade. Could also pay off when looking for a job later if they keep you in mind.

Any idea what it weighs? I have the two stage ego and my biggest complaint is it’s too light (I think). I’m going to 3d print a couple mounts so I can hang weight up front and keep it tracking under the snow, it pops up and skates over hard pack without concerted effort. Curious what I should target weight wise.
